Hi, I'm Itzy, a Junior UX designer specialising in creating interfaces for video games and interactive media projects. I aim to build solid UI/UX frameworks to support users in their journeys through cyberspace 🛰️

My path to UX design began during my studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (BA in Art History and MA in Art Analysis and Management), where I specialised in Contemporary Visual Culture and Media Studies. I view User Experience as a powerful research tool for understanding how humans interact with and interpret digital media by exploring their relationship with virtual environments.
My interest in the video game field comes from a deep love for speculative fiction and technomaterialism. My experience as an art educator working in interactive art spaces has refined my skills in building story paths for all kinds of audiences and working collectively in cross-functional teams. I believe in the connection between scientific outreach and User Experience, primarily when the interactive framework transforms the user into the player. Therefore, I’m inspired by projects that serve as catalysts for education, community, critical thinking and narrative depth.
I’ve recently graduated from CareerFoundry’s UX design program, where I dedicated over 500 hours to mastering user-centred methodologies, specialising in user testing and UI design, and applying UX research methods to create data-driven designs that meet user needs. My most recent project was developing Ohmu, an animal rescue app that began as a simple tool to connect animal rescuers with veterinarians. However, research revealed that more was needed: a community-driven platform fostering local rescue networks and challenging traditional narratives about animal rescue and animal rights. This project not only refined my UX skills but also deepened my understanding of how digital design is imperative for shaping the future we want.

I also have a strong interest in DIY culture and open-source initiatives, philosophical posthumanism, solarpunk, and cyberpunk literature. I experiment with digital art and I’m active in political campaigns for human and animal rights while collaborating as a writer for an online journalism platform based in Berlin.
